‘It’s a pretty good time to be in Oxford’ as an investor - The Times

Oxford is experiencing a boom as international investors recognise the quality and quantity of science-based businesses in the area, a leading venture capitalist has said.
Speaking before a key speech by the chancellor in Oxfordshire on Wednesday that is expected to relaunch Labour’s economic growth plans, David Mott, founder and partner at Oxford Capital, said interest in the city-region is the best he has seen in 25 years of investing there.
“It’s a pretty good time to be in Oxford,” Mott said. “Wonderful new buildings are coming on stream in 2025 and big-hitting global philanthropists are bringing investment and new connections.

“Oxford’s network of researchers, entrepreneurs, investors and alumni is buzzing like never before — so many people are keen to get involved in innovation and new companies. Luckily Oxford has one of the world’s greatest talent pools to support this, both in and out of the university.”
